There’s no magic button to click to stop Windows 10 from downloading–you’ll have to install a special patch from Microsoft to keep them from making you download something else. The first thing to do is to stop the Windows Update service on your Windows 7 machine. You can do this by going to Start and typing in in the search box.If your system has already downloaded the Windows 10 update files, it will tell you, and you can click the “Remove Win10 Files” to delete them. You’ll have to reboot, but at the end, the icon will be gone and your computer shouldn’t get the upgrade.
